Shell Donates $15,000 to Typhoon Ondoy Relief Effort

TAMUNING, Guam (November 13, 2009) — Shell North Pacific Islands President Eloy Lizama announced today that Shell’s Typhoon Ondoy relief effort has been a great success. $15,000 has been collected during a month long fundraising effort and will be provided to those in need. During the month of October Shell donated a nickel for a gallon of fuel purchased at all Shell stations on Guam, Saipan and Palau.

“We’re proud to be able to work together with our customers and our staff in an effort to provide much needed relief for our neighbors in the Philippines,” said Lizama. He went on to say, “Once again, our customers and our staff on Guam have demonstrated their compassion to those less fortunate.”

Typhoon Ondoy recently caused the worst flooding in Metro Manila in more than four decades. This tragedy resulted in more than 100 deaths and has displaced hundreds of thousands of residents from Metro Manila and nearby provinces.

“Times like these bring out the best in all of us on Guam, Saipan and Palau, and we’re glad to be able to make a difference,” said Lizama.
